It’s taken me a while to come round to enjoying Hama beads with my girls. To start with they were just too fiddly and time consuming, which inevitably ended up with tears of frustration. Then there’s the mess … those beads get everywhere!
A year on and it’s all changed. Gone are the days when the beads mainly decorated my floor. Now they are placed with great precision and care to create tiny little masterpieces. But what to do with those masterpieces? …
Put them in frames.
1. Here the girls decorated pre-coloured frames with buttons and gems.
2. These was a plain wooden frames that was painted white before decorating.
3. If your feeling really adventurous create a collage background to stick the Hamas bead creation on.
Tulle scraps created the background to the dolphin and shell beads were used to decorate the frame.
Coloured sand was used to create the back ground in this picture and felt scraps used to make the tree.
They look fantastic when framed and make great presents for family.
great idea….ours usually end up back in the box with the beads or fiddled with & broken….now we shall make them into presents for the Grandparents!!

Cute idea. We have literally over one hundred of these. My kids love them. I was thinking of using them for Christmas orniments.

Super idea! We use the really cheap IKEA wooden frames for things like this – we have framed all sorts of but nor Hama beads… we’ll give it a whirl – thanks for the inspiration!
